The call is open to young people of Europe and - limited to one place - a non-European citizens, with strong motivation and preparation for trades in the cinema and animation, solid and artistic ability to design / modeling, knowledge or predisposition to the use of computer tools for the creation of images.
The curriculum is three years with compulsory attendance, admission is on competition, the annual registration fee is 1,500 €.
The course in animation of the CSC is unique in Italy, aims to train artists and technicians qualified for participation in the various stages of creative design and manufacturing of products based on the animation.
Pre - essential requirements for candidates:
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification;
- Date of birth between 1 January 1983 and December 31, 1989;
- Ability to design and / or modeling and knowledge of cinema and animation;
- Fluent in Italian.
With the application form, candidates must submit, for the selection:
graph paper, show reel of footage, animation or live action, maximum 10 minutes (optional).
Requirements and Recommendations for the selection: knowledge and passion for film and animation are the starting point to follow our training together with a strong professional motivation, predisposition to teamwork, ability to organize their time and willingness to work "time consuming" and "labor intensive" such as animation. Are important: marked sensitivity to the narrative film, interest and aptitude in the arts visual, preparedness and ability to visualize and design, creation and playback of images with different styles, concepts of perspective drawing and volumetric, versatile use of different techniques of drawing, graphics, painting, modeling, both traditional and digital.
The course is spread over two lines of specialization: classical animation and visual 3D/effetti animation. Ample space is given to experimentation and development of personal projects, but also on external project achievements and experiences in production. Courses, seminars and workshops are taught by top professional animators.
School of Animation Experimental Cinema Centre is situated on an estate on the hill of Turin, the guest house can accommodate 34 students.
The CSC course of animation, created in 2001 with the support of Regione Piemonte, has completed its first four training sessions, graduating young artists and technicians, carrying out numerous projects in various short films and simulation purchasing essays as a diploma, already selected and awarded - among others - the International Festival of Annecy, Hiroshima, Ottawa, Dervock, Cartoons on the Bay, Archipelago of Rome, I Castelli Animati Genzano, Animafest of Zagreb, Virtuality of Turin, Future Film Festival Bologna, CICDAF Changzhou, Les E-magiciens of Valenciennes, Trickfilm of Stuttgart, SICAF of Seoul.
The course of animation has the support of RAI, Turner Broadcasting System Italy (Cartoon Network) and Fondazione CRT.
